Project: P38 DSE Live Diagnostic Dashboard (in development)

The Range Rover P38 is known for its complexity — especially on the electrical and diagnostic side. Over the years, I’ve noticed that most generic OBD apps don’t really fit the P38 DSE diesel. They either show the wrong data, lack context, or simply don’t help when you actually need information while driving or diagnosing. With the excepion of the Nanocom devices of course.

That’s why I’ve started working on a dedicated P38 DSE live diagnostic dashboard. This project focuses exclusively on the diesel (DSE) version of the P38. Different ECU, different behaviour, different priorities — so no compromises or “one size fits all”.

What this project aims to become is A live dashboard for engine and system parameters Clear status-based information instead of raw numbers only.

Designed for  driving, testing, diagnosing Built and tested on an actual P38 DSE, not just datasheets At the moment this project is still in active development. The focus is on getting the fundamentals right first: reliable data, meaningful thresholds, and a layout that makes sense at a glance.

More updates will follow as testing progresses. Built for adventure — and for understanding what your P38 is really doing.

Current mock-up:

🚧 Status: Active development
🛠️ Vehicle: Range Rover P38 DSE
📡 Input: OBD live data (for Andoid)

The firts code has been written and APK file has been installed on Samsung Active Tab. The apps runs in mock modus but no live data yet, I'm waiting for the OBDlink tool to arrive to make a bluetooth connection.

Hopefully I'm able to retrieve some data from the p38 once the dongle is inserted. Cross fingers.

Bye for now👊
